Tap into Freedom: Your Beginner Guide to Releasing What No Longer Serves You

Sometimes the fastest way to feel lighter is right at your finger tips: This self-soothing practice calms your Nervous System.

A note from the founder

I created Leading Her Way as a space for women who want it all: ambition, balance and that feeling of being deeply in tune with themselves.

What started as my own journey to slow down and reconnect has grown into something bigger: a digital platform made to help you live, work and lead in harmony with your body.

Our magazine is the toolkit I wish someone had handed me years ago - gentle reminders, powerful shifts and everything I’ve learned along the way.

Now, it’s yours.

We all carry stories – about who we are, what we deserve and what we’re capable of. But what if those stories aren’t actually true? What if they’re just old patterns, quietly running the show in the background?

This is where tapping enters the stage – also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT): such simple yet powerful tool that helps you release self-limiting beliefs and rewire your emotional state.

What Exactly Is Tapping?

Think of tapping as acupuncture without the needles. Instead of puncturing the skin, you gently tap with your fingertips on specific meridian points across the body – the same ones used in traditional Chinese medicine to move energy.

While tapping, you repeat phrases that acknowledge the negative emotion you’re feeling (stress, fear, doubt), and then reframe it into a more empowering belief. The combination helps calm the nervous system, reduce cortisol levels and literally shift your energy.

Why It Works

• Mind-body connection: By pairing physical touch with verbal expression, you’re teaching your body a new way to respond to old triggers.

• Stress relief: Studies show tapping can lower stress hormones and even reduce anxiety and PTSD symptoms.

• Rewiring beliefs: It’s not about ignoring the negative, it’s about acknowledging it, then choosing a new narrative.

A Simple Beginner Sequence

Step 1: Identify the issue

Name what’s coming up for you (e.g., “I feel overwhelmed at work.”)

Step 2: Rate the intensity

On a scale of 1 – 10, how strong is it?

Step 3: Start tapping

Using two fingers, gently tap on these points while repeating your statement:

• Side of the hand (karate chop point)

• Top of the head

• Eyebrow

• Side of the eye

• Under the eye

• Under the nose

• Chin

• Collarbone

• Under the arm

Step 4: Reframe

As you keep tapping, shift the phrase into something new: “Even though I feel overwhelmed, I deeply and completely accept myself. I choose calm. I choose clarity.”

Step 5: Reassess

After a few rounds, rate your intensity again. Most people notice it drops.

The Takeaway

Tapping isn’t about denying your feelings, it’s about giving them space and then freeing yourself from their grip. Whether you’re dealing with everyday stress or deep-rooted beliefs, EFT offers a way back to balance, calm and self-empowerment.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a few fingertips to unlock a whole new version of you.

Love,
